Happy Thursday everyone!
Last year when i started blogging, i had relaxed hair, which was always dry, flaky, itchy and my hair line was off because of continuous braiding and breakage. So i decided, why not start a fresh and follow the necessary rules and practices to maintain good natural hair.
I cut short my hair and began my journey. I started with research, searching for blogs speaking about hair, looking at images and following people with the same interest. My favourite blog is Craving Yellow, she has long beautiful hair. Add her hair to my wish list.. 😉
Shampoo & Conditioning : Shampooing often is required. Personally, i shampoo at least twice a week, keeps hair fresh and clean, fights dryness, flakiness and also itchiness that comes from excessive braiding. Here are few benefits of regular shampooing
1. Fights with Dryness-
What’s better than a conditioning shampoo? One that maintains your scalp and hair smooth & hydrated. One of the effective features of good shampoo is to eliminate dryness and bring up soft strands.
2. Calms the Itch-
In order to calm your bit scratchy scalp, it is advised to use a shampoo that is processed with the use of an anti-itch zinc ingredient. The application of shampoo will help you to soothe your scalp.
3. Relieves Irritation-
Nothing can be worse than an irritating scalp. To relieve the irritation, you should treat yourself to a little hair therapy using a good shampoo. Conditioning your hair will help you to calm your nerves and remove those perky flakes.
4. Controls Oiliness-
You always want a shampoo-conditioner that is best for you. The shampoo which is processed using rich & superior quality ingredients fights with dryness without counterbalancing with an overly greasy scalp.
5. Removes Flakes-
As a matter of fact, your dermatologist has the ability to treat dandruff without a prescription. But, why wait to pay a dermatologist when your shampoo will do this work. Grab one for less than a hundred bob at best lady or any beauty shop countrywide 😆
All in all, application of shampoo on a frequent basis will make sure that your hair and scalp look better than before. Now what’s your excuse for not using regular shampoo?
Coconut Oil :
Coconut oil is free of the scary chemicals that lurk in commercial hair products and is an excellent conditioner for all hair types. It helps in preventing damage from combing and brushing, and it is also safe to use on children. Some of the benefits of using coconut oil.
1. Hair Growth-
Helps in hair growth, the essential nutrients including lauric acid penetrates the hair shaft, improving overall health of the hair.
2. Dandruff treatment-
Coconut oil has strong antiviral, microbial and anti fungal properties that target the fungus and help to kill it as well as viruses and bacteria that may be lurking in your scalp. I have tried dandruff treatment and shampoo but it actually made it worse and did not fix cause of the flakiness. After recommendations from my mum, i bought my bottle at around 80 bob, been using it since and it did work it’s magic. I no longer deal with dandruffs and itchy scalp.
Two months ago, i discovered two awesome products, one from Nice and Lovely and Tony Airo. Amla legend rejuvenating ritual and Siri roots stimulating oil. When i shampoo, i apply this replenishing hair mask on weekly basis, It leaves my hair feeling silky. Still working my way with Siri, will update progress noted on my next post on natural hair.
Personally, managing my hair at it’s current state is easy. Next, I’ll speak about protective hair styles and how to take care of your hair at the comfort of your home, salon appointments are important once in a while though 😄
